Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, and Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, attended the opening ceremony of Qatar Charity’s office in Egypt. The event was attended by Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women; Ambassador Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work; Ambassador Nermeen El-Zawahry, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Secretary-General of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development; Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative; and Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Charity, alongside several ambassadors and diplomats.
Dr. Ibrahim Saber stated that the opening of Qatar Charity’s office in Egypt represents an important step toward strengthening humanitarian and development partnerships and promoting solidarity and cooperation among peoples. He emphasized that civil society and charitable organizations are key partners in supporting the state’s efforts to achieve sustainable development and improve citizens’ quality of life.
He added that the strong fraternal relations between Egypt and Qatar provide a solid foundation for further cooperation in humanitarian and development fields. He also stressed the importance of coordinating efforts among government institutions, civil society organizations, and charitable entities to reach the most vulnerable groups, meet their needs, and achieve a tangible and sustainable development impact.
The opening marks a new step in advancing humanitarian and development work and expanding cooperation and partnerships between Egypt and Qatar. It will support the implementation of development and community initiatives and programs, reflecting the depth of the two countries’ fraternal relations and their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Qatar Charity is an international humanitarian and development organization that implements a variety of programs and projects, including emergency relief, education, healthcare, water provision, social welfare, orphan sponsorship, and support for vulnerable groups.
