The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has announced the rules governing the monthly payment of the teaching incentive to all teaching staff who actively teach in classrooms, as well as school principals and vice-principals, subject to the following conditions:
1. Teachers must fulfill their required weekly teaching hours and receive a performance rating of at least “Competent” during the academic year.
2. Teachers must fulfill their required weekly teaching hours throughout the month, taking official holidays and national occasions into account.
3. School principals and vice-principals must have completed at least 18 actual working days during the month, including holidays.
4. The employee’s performance appraisal for the previous year must be at least “Competent.” Those rated “Above Average” will receive 50% of the incentive amount.
5. The employee must not have been subject to a disciplinary penalty involving a salary deduction exceeding five days during the payment month.
6. The employee must not be suspended from work during the suspension period. If they are subsequently found not responsible, any withheld incentive payments will be reimbursed, provided the other conditions are met.

The ministry is expected to increase the teaching incentive from EGP 1,000 to EGP 2,100.
