Minister of Health and Population Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Insurance to discuss the advantages of adopting global management models to improve the quality of medical services provided to citizens. He instructed the signing of cooperation protocols with several relevant entities, including the consideration of a protocol between Misr Insurance Company and the New Administrative Capital Hospital. This protocol aims to provide treatment services to individuals not covered by health insurance on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the hospital’s financial regulations and the approved insurance package.
The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population explained that the meeting—attended by Dr. Amr Kandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, and Dr. Ahmed Mostafa, Chairman of the Authority—also discussed mechanisms for signing a cooperation protocol between the General Authority for Health Insurance and private technical nursing schools. This protocol aims to train students according to standards approved by the Ministries of Health and Population and Education and Technical Education.
Additionally, the deputy minister of health and population chaired the steering committee meeting of the Egyptian project funded by the Pandemic Fund to monitor the implementation progress of project activities and strengthen coordination between domestic and international partners as part of efforts to enhance Egypt’s ability to confront health emergencies.
