Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir emphasized the strong ties between the political leadership and the peoples of Egypt and Japan, praising the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the two countries in implementing several joint projects in the transport sector.
The minister’s remarks were made during his meeting with Fumio Iwai, Japan’s Ambassador to Cairo, to discuss the progress of joint projects. The meeting was attended by Wagdy Radwan, Deputy Minister of Transport for Railways and Electric Traction, and Tarek Goueli, Chairman of the National Authority for Tunnels.
The meeting addressed the latest developments in cooperation on training and capacity building, with JICA providing specialized training programs in various transport sectors. By the end of 2025, 48 Egyptians will have been trained, and both sides aim to reach 70 trainees by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Ambassador emphasized the strong interest of Japanese companies in investing in Egypt, given the promising investment climate.
