The Tourism and Antiquities Ministry through its official
Facebook page, announced the prices of tickets to enter and visit the available
places of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) for Egyptians and
foreigners, in addition to the museum’s working hours throughout the week.
Tickets
can be booked through the museum’s official website.
Ticket prices for Egyptians
- Visitor: LE 350.
- Youth: LE 200.
- Student: LE 200.
- Seniors: LE 200.
Ticket prices for foreigners
- Visitor: LE 1200.
- Youth: LE 750.
- Student: LE 750.
The GEM contains large number of
distinctive and unique artifacts, including the treasures of the golden king
Tutankhamun, being displayed for the first time in full since the discovery of
his tomb in November 1922.
The GEM also includes the collection of
Queen Hetepheres, the mother of King Khufu, the builder of the Great Pyramid of
Giza, and the Museum of King Khufu’s boats, in addition to various
archaeological collections from the pre-dynastic era to the Greek and Roman
eras.
The museum has places for cultural
activities and events such as a children’s museum, an educational center,
temporary exhibition halls, cinema, conference center, as well as many
commercial areas that include shops, cafeterias and restaurants, in addition to
gardens and parks.
The GEM is open to visitors all days of
the week, from nine am to 10:00 pm.
