Serbian minister explores ancient history at National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo
Serbian Minister of Information
and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić and Serbian Ambassador to Cairo
Miroslav Šestović toured the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in
Fustat during the minister’s official visit to Egypt.
They were welcomed by the museum’s CEO,
Ahmed Ghoneim, who briefed them on the museum’s historical importance, cultural
significance, and societal contributions.
Ghoneim presented the visiting minister
with the catalogue of royal mummies as a symbol of the museum’s most renowned
collections.
Throughout their visit, they explored
the museum’s main exhibition areas, including the royal mummies hall and
the Egyptian textile hall. They were introduced to remarkable archaeological
findings that tell the story of ancient Egyptian civilization across different
periods.
Minister Ristić expressed his
deep admiration for the museum, applauding its role in highlighting Egypt’s
vibrant civilization through its archaeological treasures that shed light on
the development of Egyptian culture and heritage over the centuries. He
specifically commended the royal mummies hall for its outstanding presentation
style.
