As part of its Art at the Parc cultural
program, the historic estate, Parc Broekhuizen in Leersum announced the launch
of a solo art exhibition by Egyptian abstract expressionist artist Riham El
Adl.
The exhibition which is titled
‘Journey’ will run from April 7 – May 25, 2024 and it will be the first time an
Egyptian artist is featured at Parc Broekhuizen.
El Adl is an Egyptian abstract
expressionist artist residing in Amsterdam, the Netherlands since 2020. She is
influenced by her North African upbringing between Egypt and Morocco as well as
her extensive travels around the world, including trips in South America and
its majestic Amazon rain forests.
El Adl’s art emanates vibrancy,
boldness and abundance of colors, drawing inspiration from her unique life
experience and personal journey of growth and transformation. Her artwork
seamlessly blends abstract, figurative and narrative elements, inviting diverse
interpretations from viewers
“We are very excited to feature a solo
exhibition for Riham El Adl’s artworks and to shed light on her as one of
Egypt’s rising talents in the contemporary, abstract expressionist art space,”
said Anita Bos, General Manager, Parc Broekhuizen. As we continuously
strive to combine art with our heritage, contemporary design and the grand
nature that surrounds us, El Adl artworks will surely be an added value,” she
added.
“Riham El Adl’s upcoming exhibition
resembles her personality and journey in life – colorful, bold, transformative
and adventurous - taking the viewers on an exciting journey that moves them on
a celebratory and spiritual level,” said Irene Shreuder, Culture
Ambassador, Parc Broekhuizen. Our two cultural programs, ‘Sculptures at
the Parc’ and ‘Art at the Parc’ host exhibitions that feature some of the
world’s most exciting and well reputed artists.
“It is a huge honor for me to exhibit
my artworks at the glorious and majestic premises of the Parc Brokehuizen,”
said Riham El Adl. “The minute you enter the gates of the estate; you
can’t help but feel awe at the beauty of the architecture that dates back to
the 15th century. The Main House was previously a castle built in 1801
and the complimenting contemporary interior design that still maintains the
heritage of the place, transport you to the time of the noble residents who
lived there”.
