Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber conducted an inspection tour of the area surrounding the Safaa Hegazi Metro Station to follow up on the initiative launched by the Cairo governorate in collaboration with the Zamalek Association for Development. This initiative aims to plant trees in Sedqi Square, located in Zamalek.

The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Ibrahim Abdel Hadi, several officials of the Cairo governorate, and members of the Zamalek Association for Development.

During the tour, Governor Saber said the governorate aims to increase its green spaces while preserving existing plants and trees to enhance air quality and the quality of life for citizens, as this is a top priority for the Egyptian state.

Moreover, Saber praised the role of civil society organizations, emphasizing that they are active partners in the ongoing development of Cairo. He added that the key to success in local administration lies in the ability to foster cooperation between executive bodies and civil society.

Saber also said the governorate welcomes any ideas that contribute to enhancing the quality of life for the citizens. He added that selecting trees requiring minimal amounts of water has been considered to preserve the metro structure.

Saber further said the initiative will be completed by planting trees along Ismail Mohammad Street in collaboration with the Zamalek Development Association and Cairo’s General Authority for Cleanliness, Beautification, and Lighting.
