Women, who are under the age of 50, can apply to be
pilgrimage (Hajj) supervisors for Hajj trip of civil society organizations this
year, according to a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Social
Solidarity, headed by Maya Morsi, Minister of Solidarity and Chairman of the
Board of Trustees of the National Foundation for Hajj Facilitation.
As for those who are have supervision experience, they
should not be less than 60 years old, the statement added.
New or experienced supervisors will be selected
according to written and oral tests through committees formed by the
Foundation’s Board of Trustees, the statement continued.
The male and female supervisors shall apply for these
tasks on this website www.hijjfoundation.com from the period between December
22, 2024 until January 2, 2025.
As for the criteria set by the Ministry, one
supervisor should be selected for every 46 pilgrims. Sixty percent of the
supervisors will be experienced and previously supervised the Hajj of
associations, while the 40 percent will be for the new supervisors.
Female supervisors are essential for helping and
serving the senior female pilgrims, especially those who are suffering from
chronical diseases like diabetes and hypertension and those who cannot walk for
long stances and move with wheelchairs.
