Egypt gets slight cool down this week but heat is going nowhere

Egypt’s summer heat shows no signs of retreat this week, despite a slight dip in temperatures of 1–2°C from Monday through Saturday, according to the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).

Rough seas are forecast along parts of the northwestern coast on Monday, with wave heights of 2 to 3 meters and gusts up to 50 km/h off Matrouh, Alamein and Alexandria. Maritime activity is advised with caution.

Greater Cairo and the Nile Delta will see daytime highs of 34°C to 36°C, with nights cooling slightly to 22°C–23°C.

Dust and sand may reduce visibility on Monday in parts of southern Upper Egypt, South Sinai, and the Red Sea governorate.
