The Egyptian Drug Authority continues to coordinate with the companies producing preparations in this category, and to monitor consumption rates, stock levels, and production plans, in addition to ensuring the availability of the raw materials necessary to sustain manufacturing and ensure the regular supply of the preparations.
The current monitoring confirms a stable availability situation for injectable Vitamin D preparations, with existing stocks held by companies and distribution companies, as well as new quantities currently under analysis and production. In addition, raw materials are available in quantities sufficient to sustain manufacturing and cover future needs.
Devarol is one of the available preparations in this category and is locally manufactured by Memphis Pharmaceuticals.
The preparation had faced challenges due to some maintenance work from the beginning of June until the end of July. Production resumed at the beginning of August, and the products reached the supply chains at the beginning of the current month. The company continues to regularly supply new quantities to the market, with quantities equivalent to more than one month’s consumption having been supplied from the beginning of September until now. Additional quantities sufficient for one full month of consumption are currently under production and will be released successively. Furthermore, raw materials sufficient for 10 months are available to sustain production and meet market needs according to consumption rates.
The Egyptian Drug Authority explained that preparations in this category are available through several locally manufactured preparations produced by multiple pharmaceutical companies, with existing stocks, new quantities under analysis and production, as well as the availability of the raw materials necessary to sustain manufacturing.
The Authority urges all citizens, physicians, and pharmacists to communicate directly with the Authority to obtain reassurance regarding the availability status of any preparations and medicines across different therapeutic groups, and to refrain from engaging with any rumors targeting the stability of the Egyptian pharmaceutical market.
