As part of showcasing the development of Egypt’s higher education and scientific research system from 2014 to 2026, the General Administration of the Media Office and Official Spokesperson at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research launches the “Higher Education in Numbers” series under the slogan “We Were… and We Have Become.” The series features a collection of illustrative infographics comparing key indicators between 2014 and 2026 and highlighting developments across various sectors of the system through figures and visuals.
The series aims to document the development and achievements of the higher education and scientific research system, highlight the state’s efforts to develop universities and university hospitals, support scientific research and innovation, and strengthen the position of Egyptian universities in international rankings. It also seeks to make information and statistics accessible to the public in a simple and clear format, raising awareness of the system’s progress and its impact on supporting the country’s development efforts.
The series aligns with the Ministry’s vision for developing higher education and scientific research, improving the quality of education, enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian universities, and aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs and sustainable development requirements. It also complements the themes of Egypt Forum 2026 related to human development and preparing future-ready professionals.
The infographics cover development indicators from 2014 to 2026 across several areas, including the expansion of universities, the development of university hospitals and healthcare services, increased research output, the growing international presence of Egyptian universities, and changes in student enrollment rates in scientific and practical disciplines. Together, they provide a clear picture of the key transformations that the system has undergone.
