Ministry of Foreign Affairs Launches Pilot Phase of Its Electronic Consular Services Platform

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad has launched the pilot phase of its interactive electronic consular services platform through the “Masry Belkharag” (Egyptians Abroad) app, which is available for download on smartphones via the App Store and Google Play. This initiative comes in line with presidential directives to improve the quality of consular services provided to Egyptian citizens abroad, as well as the state’s efforts to promote digital transformation and develop government services.

The app’s pilot phase currently covers 17 Egyptian diplomatic and consular missions: Prague, the Egyptian Consulate in Houston, Rabat, the Egyptian Consulate in Hamburg, Manama, Berlin, Doha, Pretoria, the Egyptian Consulate in Los Angeles, the Egyptian Consulate in Frankfurt, Rome, Abu Dhabi, the Egyptian Consulate in Chicago, the Egyptian Consulate in Marseille, Brussels, the Egyptian Consulate in Sydney, and the Egyptian Consulate in Melbourne. The app will be gradually expanded to cover additional diplomatic and consular missions in the coming period.

The app enables Egyptian citizens abroad to complete consular transactions and track each stage of processing until all related procedures are completed. This will help simplify procedures, save time and effort, and improve the quality of services provided to citizens. In the next phase, additional consular services are expected to become available through the app, along with an intelligent assistant powered by artificial intelligence to answer citizens’ inquiries and provide information and guidance on consular services and procedures.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the launch of the platform is part of its integration with other government digital platforms available to citizens. It also aligns with the state’s efforts to safeguard the interests of Egyptians abroad, facilitate their transactions, and strengthen communication with them by expanding the use of modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence tools. These efforts aim to develop the consular work system and enhance the quality of services provided to Egyptian citizens abroad.
