Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, attended the first participation of the Cairo Education Directorate’s student choir in the “Art Street” events in Downtown Cairo. The event reflects the Governorate’s commitment to supporting artistic talent in the capital’s schools and providing students with opportunities to participate in the cultural and artistic events hosted by the capital.
The event was attended by Dr. Ahmed Anwar Attia El-Adl, Deputy Governor for the Western Region; Dr. Hemat Abu Keila, Director of the Cairo Education Directorate; as well as a number of governorate officials and representatives of the Academy of Arts.
The Governor of Cairo noted that “Art Street,” organized in cooperation with the Academy of Arts under the leadership of Dr. Nabila Hassan, President of the Academy of Arts, has become an important cultural and artistic platform for nurturing promising talent and revitalizing the arts scene in the heart of the capital. He said the initiative contributes to promoting culture and the arts among citizens and showcasing Cairo’s cultural and civilizational character. He affirmed that the Governorate would continue supporting initiatives that provide people of all ages with opportunities to showcase their talents and creativity before the public.
The Governor of Cairo emphasized that identifying and nurturing talented individuals is one of the key pillars of building the Egyptian individual. He noted that the Governorate is keen to cooperate with the Education Directorate and all relevant entities to provide platforms where young people can express their talents and creativity, strengthen their self-confidence, and develop their artistic and cultural awareness.
A total of 25 male and female students from the Cairo Education Directorate’s choir participated in the event. For the first time, they performed on the “Art Street” stage, presenting a selection of patriotic, traditional, and show songs. Their performances received widespread appreciation from visitors, reflecting a distinguished artistic level and polished performance. The street attracted a large audience of Egyptians, Arabs, and foreign visitors.
Dr. Ibrahim Saber praised the choir members’ performance and commended the efforts of the Cairo Education Directorate and those responsible for training the students. He stressed that such talents deserve full support and care, emphasizing that true investment begins with discovering and developing young people’s abilities from an early age.
The event also featured the mobile library operated by the Public Libraries of Egypt.
