Secretary‑General of the Supreme Council of Culture Dr. Ashraf Al‑Azazi stated that it is important to harness the momentum in Egyptian‑Chinese relations. He added that the council is seeking to realize the outcomes of the recent visit of the Chinese President to Egypt to promote cooperation in the cultural, academic, and knowledge fields.

The secretary‑general’s remarks came during his meeting with senior officials and professors of Beijing International Studies University. The meeting addressed avenues of boosting cultural and academic cooperation and expanding channels of communication between Egyptian and Chinese institutions.

The Secretary‑General reviewed current aspects of cooperation between the two sides, adding that the cooperation protocol signed last May between the Supreme Council of Culture and the Beijing University Studies Center represents a significant framework for advancing cultural partnership. He also said that the first mutual activities under the protocol will be launched in November.

The two sides also emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between cultural and academic institutions in both countries. They also discussed expanding shared events and programs that contribute to promoting mutual understanding between the Egyptian and Chinese peoples.
