About

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber and Qalyubia Governor Ayman Attia led a large-scale campaign in the area between Cairo and Qalyubia, specifically in the El-Marg district, to remove encroachments and conduct a comprehensive study to organize informal microbus stops. This effort was carried out in cooperation with the Cairo Security Directorate and in coordination with the Public Utilities Police as part of the two governorates' plan to restore order, ease traffic flow, and improve services provided to citizens.

The two governors were accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Mona El-Batrawi, Deputy Qalyubia Governor Dr. Eman Rayan, Chief of the Marg District Manal El-Soutohi, and several officials from the Cairo Security Directorate, the Public Utilities Police, and both governorates.

Saber and Attia stated that the Marg district and the border area with Qalyubia are experiencing heavy traffic congestion due to their role as vital connecting points between the two governorates. This situation necessitates continuous field inspections and joint cooperation to eliminate any unauthorized elements that obstruct citizens' movement or detract from the area's orderly appearance. They emphasized that the campaigns aim to restore pedestrians' right to safe passage and to enforce the rule of law.

Moreover, Governor Saber clarified that the campaign to remove encroachments aims to eliminate illegal occupancies on sidewalks and roadways. He emphasized the implementation of consistent periodic inspection campaigns. The campaign involved removing these encroachments and eliminating unauthorized electrical connections that posed a danger to citizens. Additionally, reports were filed, and the necessary legal actions were taken against the violators.

During the tour, Saber and Attia conducted a walking tour of the area connecting the two governorates ahead of conducting a detailed field study. This study aims to upgrade the area through organizing unauthorized microbus stops and regulating traffic routes by coordination between the relevant authorities of both governorates. This effort seeks to ease traffic flow throughout the area, which is currently undergoing major development projects to increase efficiency and improve the quality of life for its residents.

Furthermore, Saber and Attia directed district chiefs to conduct regular field inspections to monitor conditions firsthand, prevent the recurrence of encroachments, and take decisive, immediate action against any violations.
