Cairo Gov., World Smart Cities Organization discuss cooperation

On the sidelines of his participation in the third day of the World Urban Forum (WUF12), Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber met with a delegation from the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization, which is part of the delegation from Seoul, the capital of South Korea.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the two sides. The delegation also expressed hope for Cairo's membership in the organization, considering it a major city with significant international status and a strategic location. The delegation said Cairo's membership would be a valuable addition to the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO).

WeGO is an international advisory body for cities, local governments, companies, and entities seeking to transform cities into smart and sustainable ones.

WeGO has more than 200 members and is an international platform for improving residents' quality of life, innovating the delivery of public services, and strengthening regional competitiveness through public-private partnerships (PPP).

WeGO was founded by 50 member cities in 2010 as the World e-Governments Organization, and later changed its name to the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization. in 2017.
