Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber stated that Cairo’s
National Emergency and Public Safety Network Center, the Central Operations
Room, and the sub-operations rooms in districts and directorates received no
notifications or complaints about service shortages during the Eid al-Fitr
holiday.
Moreover, Governor Saber stated that the National Emergency and Public
Safety Network Center and the central operations room in the governorate
operated 24 hours a day. They were also connected to Cairo’s directorates and
district operations rooms to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of
services to citizens. He added that citizens can contact the central operations
room via the hotline numbers 15496 and 114 to report any service-related issues
they encounter, which will be addressed promptly.
Saber also stated that all districts and directorates were on high
alert, and leaves had been canceled throughout the days of Eid al-Fitr. All
executive leaders responsible for providing services to citizens at the
governorate level were present at their locations. He added that all services
proceeded in an orderly manner, with bakeries and food outlets operating as
usual. Cleaning campaigns were intensified in all streets and squares, and the
maintenance of parks was enhanced to preserve their aesthetic and civilized
appearance during Eid.
Saber further stated that the governorate has taken all necessary
measures to ensure the availability of food commodities for citizens during Eid
al-Fitr. He also emphasized that control over markets and public shops was
tightened to regulate prices, prevent exploitation and monopolization of goods,
and conduct regular inspections of bakeries to ensure the production of bread
that meets quality standards. Additionally, joint campaigns have been
intensified among the directorates of Veterinary Medicine, Health, Supply, and
the Supply Investigations Department to inspect all outlets and shops selling
and distributing fresh, salted, and smoked fish, ensuring their suitability for
consumption to protect public health.
Saber also stated that the governorate and the Cairo Traffic General
Department collaborated to ramp up traffic campaigns on public roads and in
squares. Their goal was to optimize traffic flow in those areas.
Saber also highlighted the ramped-up district inspection campaigns,
coordinated with the Public Utilities Police. These efforts regulate street
vendors and clear encroachments that block traffic, especially those near
parks, gardens, and access roads.
He further stressed collaboration with the Waterway Police. They
strengthen oversight of Nile marinas, enforce all required security and safety
measures, respect licensed boat capacities, and take legal action against
violators to protect public safety.
