Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber,
accompanied by the Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, Ayman Ashry,
inaugurated the “Ahlan Bel Eid" exhibition on El-Sabtia Street. The
exhibition is a collaboration between the Cairo Governorate, the Holding
Company for Food Industries under the Ministry of Supply, and the Cairo Chamber
of Commerce. This initiative implements the political leadership's directives
to provide citizens with essential and strategic goods of high quality at
prices lower than those in the market, ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr.
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Dr.
Ahmed Anwar Attia El-Adl; Hamam Munir, managing director of the Egyptian
Company for Wholesale Trade, affiliated with the Holding Company for Food
Industries under the Ministry of Supply; Abdel Basset Abdel Naeem, director of
the Cairo Supply Directorate; and several other officials from the Cairo
governorate.
Governor Saber stated that the inauguration of these
exhibitions is part of the governorate's efforts to provide food commodities at
affordable prices and to alleviate burdens on citizens during the holy month of
Ramadan, particularly in the lead-up to the Eid al-Fitr holiday. He added that
the governorate is working to expand the establishment of exhibitions and
outlets offering goods at affordable prices across various parts of Cairo,
especially in the most vulnerable areas.
Moreover, Saber confirmed consistent market monitoring
during the holy month of Ramadan to prevent any attempts to manipulate prices
or monopolize goods. He also urged citizens to report any observed violations.
Saber also praised the efforts of the Ministry of Supply
and the Holding Company for Food Industries for their cooperation with the
governorate in establishing these exhibitions to provide citizens with all the
goods they need at reduced prices. He pointed out that these exhibitions have
helped create price stability in the markets and prevent price increases.
Saber further praised Mr. Ayman Ashry, Chairman of the
Cairo Chamber of Commerce, for his ongoing support of the initiatives
undertaken by the governorate to serve its citizens.
The exhibition covers an area of 700 square meters and
features a wide variety of food commodities, including oils, meat and poultry,
sugar, rice, pasta, flour, tea, baked goods, and household detergents offered
at reduced prices to help alleviate burdens on citizens. Additionally, Eid
cakes and biscuits are available.
The exhibition includes additional inventory to ensure the
immediate availability of goods to meet citizens' needs, with discounts on
displayed products ranging from 25% to 30%.
