Amid
regional developments unfolding, Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli, held
follow‑up discussions with key ministers to review the country’s strategic
reserves of petroleum products and essential food supplies.
The meetings come as
part of ongoing government efforts to ensure stability and readiness for any
potential scenarios.
During his meeting
with Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi, the Prime Minister
reviewed the status of petroleum reserves and the stability of supply chains.
The minister
confirmed that reserves remain at safe levels, with secure and regular supplies
across various petroleum products, especially those needed by productive
sectors. He added that the ministry has recently taken proactive steps to
strengthen preparedness and develop rapid‑response plans for any unexpected
developments in the energy sector.
Minister Badawi also
noted that he visited the National Gas Network Control Center to oversee the
implementation of the natural gas supply plan. He confirmed that gas is being
delivered smoothly to all sectors of the domestic market, and that systems are
ready to activate pre‑planned response scenarios if required.
In a separate
meeting, Madbouli reviewed the status of strategic food reserves with Supply
and Internal Trade Minister Sherif Farouk. The minister assured that Egypt
maintains safe stocks of essential food commodities, with reserves sufficient
for several months.
He emphasized that
the government continues to supply markets with key products, monitor prices,
and coordinate between agencies to prevent monopolistic practices or
unjustified price increases, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
These follow‑ups
reflect the government’s efforts to maintain stability, protect consumers, and
ensure the secure flow of essential goods during a period of heightened
regional tension.
