Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber conducted an inspection tour of the area surrounding Ramses Square to follow up on the progress of efforts to restore order as part of the state's initiative to redesign the square.
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Dr. Ahmad Anwar El-Adl and several officials from the Cairo Governorate. During the tour, Governor Saber also inspected the revitalization and upgrading work on the Lemon Bridge.
Saber also instructed the Director of the Roads and Transportation Directorate to promptly complete the revitalization and upgrading of the bridge to preserve it as one of Khedive Cairo's landmarks, in cooperation with the National Organization for Urban Harmony.
Moreover, Saber urged that citizens should have the right to use both sidewalks on the bridge without any obstructions.
Saber also directed the executive bodies to continuously conduct follow-up campaigns to prevent the recurrence of encroachments and to preserve the area's civilized appearance.
