Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber attended the launch of the 8th Cairo Water Week, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi from October 12 to 16, 2025.

The event was attended by the ministers of foreign affairs, water resources and irrigation, the minister of local development and acting minister of environment, the ministers of agriculture, education, parliamentary affairs, legal communication, political communication, and labor, as well as several governors. It also featured broad participation from ministers and representatives of international and regional organizations, experts, and stakeholders interested in water issues from various countries around the world.

Cairo Water Week is one of the most prominent regional and international events focused on water resource management. It reflects the significant importance the Egyptian government places on water as a matter of national security and a cornerstone of sustainable development.

The current edition is themed "Innovation in Confronting Water Challenges," emphasizing the importance of adopting innovative solutions and modern technologies to address water security challenges both regionally and globally.

The week features several panel discussions, workshops, and specialized exhibitions, along with scientific and research events that facilitate the exchange of experiences among decision-makers, scientists, researchers, and others interested in the field of water.

This year's event also features remarkable participation from 95 international and regional organizations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the United Nations Development Program, and several international partners in the water sector.

Cairo Water Week is a premier scientific and dialogue platform that unites officials, experts, and decision-makers from around the world to share experiences and strengthen cooperation aimed at achieving water security and sustainable development globally.

The conference supports knowledge exchange and advances scientific research while promoting the participation of companies and institutions in the accompanying exhibition. This exhibition showcases the latest innovations and technologies in the field of water.
