Cairo Gov. receives Azerbaijan ambassador, discuss ways of cooperation
Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber welcomed Ambassador Alkhan
Bolokhov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Cairo, at his office in the Cairo
Governorate headquarters.
During the meeting, Governor Saber emphasized the
longstanding relations between Egypt and Azerbaijan, particularly under
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who visited Baku in 2023. During this visit,
President Sisi elevated the bilateral ties between Egypt and Azerbaijan to a
strategic partnership, fostering cooperation across all economic, trade,
political, cultural, and scientific fields.
Moreover, Governor Saber
disscussed with Ambassador Bolokhov strategies to activate the Friendship and Cooperation
Agreement signed between Cairo and Baku in June 2024 on the sidelines of the
Egyptian-Azerbaijani Supreme Committee meeting in Cairo.
Governor
Saber added that the agreement seeks to enhance the bonds of friendship,
cooperation, and mutual understanding between the two cities in the areas of
culture, arts, science, education, health, medicine, tourism, sports, youth,
and environmental protection for their mutual benefit.
Saber also stated that this agreement is part of
ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries. It aims to
leverage the experiences of both nations in a manner that strengthens the
potential for bilateral collaboration and contributes to the promotion and
development of cooperation across various fields.
