Egypt’s
Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar underlined Egypt’s
keenness on promoting co-operation with friendly and sisterly states.
He stressed that
exchanging expertise and knowledge is the optimal way to confront common
challenges and realize sustainable development in the health sector.
Abdel Ghaffar made
the remarks during a meeting with Tajik Ambassador to Egypt Parviz Mirzozoda on
means of enhancing co-operation in the health domain and expanding partnership
scores in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
The meeting tackled
the latest developments in the health sector in Egypt, especially in light of
the initiatives launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi
with an aim to provide comprehensive and distinguished healthcare services for
all Egyptians, Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said.
The talks reviewed
Egypt’s capabilities in manufacturing medicine and vaccines as well as means of
reactivating co-operation protocols
between the health ministries of both sides.
The two sides also
reviewed co-operation in the fields of training
and exchanging medical expertise. Furthermore, the two sides agreed on
exchanging information on the medical needs of Tajikistan.
The two sides also
agreed to implement training programs for doctors as well as means of sending
Egyptian medical cadres to Tajikistan to promote exchange of knowledge and
expertise.
For his part, the
Tajik ambassador voiced appreciation for the achievements realized by Egypt in
the health sector. He stressed Tajikistan’s interest in benefiting from Egypt’s
experience.
Moreover, he lauded
the role played by Egypt in providing humanitarian and medical assistance for
the Palestinians. He accentuated support for the Egyptian efforts to provide
aid to the Palestinians in light of the simmering incidents in the Gaza Strip.
