Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial development and Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel El-Wazir and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib discussed with Chairman of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and Chairman Ayman Ashry group mechanisms to advance the iron and steel industry in Egypt.
During the meeting, Wazir said that the iron and steel industry is a promising strategic industry which is given a top priority by the Industry Ministry.
The iron and steel industry contributes to creating added value and promoting local manufacturing to bridge import gaps and increase export rates.
The meeting discussed investment opportunities at the Egyptian market in the iron and steel industry and its potential to inject new investments into Egypt during the upcoming phase.
Efforts to support the transition to a green economy and the replacement of new and renewable energies in various industries, such as the iron and steel industry, were also tackled during the meeting.
