About

17 December 2025

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber inspected several polling stations to monitor the progress of the runoff for the 2025 House of Representatives elections, including the polling station at Tahya Misr School in the Asmarat City.

The runoff for the 2025 House of Representatives elections is being held in southern, northern, and eastern Cairo, while the results for the candidates' seats in western Cairo were decided in the first round. Approximately 3,531,498 voters are registered in Cairo, distributed across 7 general committees and 298 sub-committees within 132 polling stations, where candidates are competing for 10 seats.

In southern Cairo, there are 71 polling stations with 150 subcommittees, while northern Cairo has 23 polling stations with 66 subcommittees. The eastern area contains 38 electoral centers with 82 subcommittees.

During his tour, Governor Saber was keen to ensure the availability of all resources that enable citizens to cast their votes smoothly, particularly wheelchairs for the elderly and election shade canopies to protect voters from the sun. He also made a point to inspect the areas surrounding the polling stations to ensure the absence of encroachments, waste, garbage bins, dilapidated cars, or abandoned vehicles on the nearby streets.

Saber also stated that the electoral process is proceeding smoothly without any obstacles, noting that the operations room has not received any complaints.
