Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber conducted an inspection tour of Rod Al-Farag Street, which stretches from the Rod Al-Farag district to the Sahel district. This tour followed recent developments aimed at improving the street's efficiency and eliminating all obstructions that were impeding traffic flow.
Governor Saber also inspected the Sana’ea Bridge, which connects western and northern Cairo, following its upgrade to enhance its efficiency.
The governor was accompanied by Deputy Cairo Governor Dr. Hossam El-Din Fawzy, Director of the Road and Transport Directorate Safaa Mosaad, several district chiefs from northern Cairo, members of the House of Representatives, and officials from the Cairo Governorate.
During the tour, Saber emphasized that the ongoing development and road improvement projects in the streets and squares of the capital would continue in accordance with the established investment plan. This plan aims to enhance traffic flow and improve the quality of services provided to citizens. He also expressed his commitment to offering all possible support and overcoming obstacles to successfully implement paving and infrastructure projects.
Saber further said the Roads and Transportation Directorate has successfully completed the paving and development of Rod El-Farag Street. This initiative is part of an investment plan designed to improve traffic flow on the street, which begins at Shubra Street in the roundabout area and extends to Abu El-Farag Street, covering a length of one kilometer and a width of 15 m².
The street upgrade included the installation of directional signs, traffic delineators, and speed bumps to enhance the safety of pedestrians crossing the road. Sidewalks, curbs, and drainage systems were also installed, and the street was repaved to improve traffic flow. Additionally, the project involved enhancing the efficiency of the Sana’ea Bridge by straightening it, installing missing parapets, painting them, and repaving the damaged sections to facilitate better traffic movement.
