Cairo Governor
Ibrahim Saber inspected Saturday the Asmarat district to follow up on the accessibility of services provided to its
residents.
Saber asserted the state's keenness to provide comprehensive
care to the residents of Asmarat and all other alternative housing projects,
adding that there is a periodic follow-up on all alternative housing projects
implemented by the state for citizens to ensure its sustainability.
Moreover, Saber inspected the ready-made garment factory
established at a cost of 21 million Egyptian pounds and provided more than 400
job opportunities for the residents of Asmarat.
The factory is located on
an area of 1000 square meters, and its building consists of 3 floors with an
area of 600 square meters.
It is equipped with all
services and includes a training center for knitting. The roof space has been
utilized to build a mosque and a restaurant for the workers. Moreover, one of
the social institutions, affiliated with one of the largest clothing
manufacturing companies, operates it to provide a substantial income for the
employees.
Furthermore, Saber
praised the role of civil society in establishing this factory within the
context of community participation in the state's efforts to enhance developed
districts, provide services, and create job opportunities for residents.
Saber also visited
several workshops and craft centers offering job opportunities to the residents
of Asmarat, established in collaboration with various NGOs. They include
clothing and handmade carpet manufacturing.
Additionally, Saber held
a meeting with executives of Asmarat to follow up on the work progress in the area
and discuss the demands of the residents and the necessary measures to meet
them.
Saber stressed the importance
of establishing workshops and small factories to create more job opportunities
for the residents and facilitating measures to complete this matter as soon as
possible. He also urged to provide fixed sales outlets to market the products
of these workshops and factories.
Saber was accompanied by
Deputy Cairo Governor Ashraf Mansour and several officials of Cairo
governorate.
