Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber conducted an inspection tour of the ongoing tree-planting works across the Mohammad Hassanein Heikal and Al-Hadarat traffic corridors to follow up on the progress of the governorate’s plan to expand green spaces. This aligns with the “Greening Cairo” presidential initiative.
During his tour, Governor Saber inspected tree-planting activities along traffic corridors in Cairo and efforts to enhance green spaces. He also ordered the intensification of tree planting in all viable areas to improve the capital’s urban landscape and enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
Moreover, Saber stated that the governorate is working to utilize all available spaces, following the directives of Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouli to convert vacant and underutilized spaces in accordance with the characteristics of each site into green spaces, and parks to serve residents and provide recreational spaces within urban areas.
Saber further said that the greening Cairo’s plan will be implemented scientifically, backed by a specialized consultancy to select species adapted to Egypt’s climate, focusing on shade‑providing, low‑water‑consumption trees. This will support the governorate’s efforts to improve the urban environment and reduce pollution.
