Egyptian National Railways allows school and university students to obtain railway subscriptions for the new 2026/2027 academic year, with discounts of up to 86.25% on a number of trains designated to serve students.
The subscription is valid on air-conditioned third-class trains, Dynamic Ventilation trains, and Tahya Misr trains. The subscription is issued between the nearest station to the student’s place of residence, as stated on their national ID card, and the nearest station to their school or university, for a maximum distance of 400 kilometers.
To obtain the subscription, students must submit an application at the railway subscription offices after completing the required information and having it officially stamped with the State Emblem. They must also provide two recent personal photographs and a copy of the student’s or parent/guardian’s national ID card.
The student subscription is valid for nine months, with the option to add three additional months for practical training, in accordance with the regulations governing subscriptions. The subscription may only be used by the person to whom it was issued. If it is found in the possession of another person, the violator will be subject to legal action and the subscription will be canceled.
