Egypt’s diplomatic and consular missions worldwide have begun exempting elderly people (those over 70) and persons with disabilities from the requirement to register and book appointments online in advance for consular transactions. They can visit the mission serving their area of residence directly and receive services without a prior appointment.
This follows the directives of Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, to provide comprehensive care and support to Egyptians abroad across all age groups, particularly the elderly and persons with disabilities. The measure also responds to requests received from Egyptians abroad by Ambassador Nabil El-Habashi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Migration and Egyptians Abroad.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad continues to work on digital transformation programs for consular services to make them more accessible and convenient for all citizens.
