Prof. Mahmoud Seddiq, President of Al-Azhar University, has directed that female students who ranked among the top graduates of Al-Azhar secondary schools and enrolled in the university’s colleges this year be exempted from university housing fees, in recognition of their academic excellence and as an encouragement to continue excelling in their university studies.
This came during the President’s reception of the top-performing Al-Azhar secondary school graduates after they had been accommodated in university housing in Cairo. He congratulated them on their outstanding achievement and distinguished results, stressing that their success was the result of hard work, perseverance, and dedication to learning.
The university president emphasized that supporting high-achieving female students is among Al-Azhar University’s top priorities. He noted the university’s commitment to providing a suitable environment that enables them to continue excelling academically and pursuing their studies. He also pointed out that university housing is an important part of the university’s student-care system, providing a stable and suitable environment for studying, in addition to the services offered during their stay.
He explained that the decision to exempt the top-performing students from university housing fees was made in accordance with the directives of His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Prof. Ahmed El-Tayeb, in recognition of their academic excellence. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to supporting its students and encouraging them to continue succeeding so that they may contribute positively to their country, Al-Azhar, and society.
The top-performing students expressed their happiness with the reception and thanked the university president for his warm welcome and care, as well as the university housing administration and staff for facilitating their accommodation procedures. They emphasized that this gesture provided them with meaningful encouragement as they begin their university studies.
