Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber attended the inauguration ceremony of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in El‑Shorouk City, in the presence of Reverend Dr. Andrea Zaki, Head of the Evangelical Community and Chairman of the General Evangelical Council.
While delivering his speech, Governor Saber expressed his delight at attending the inauguration ceremony of this religious edifice, which will be added to the range of services and places of worship in the city. He added that this inauguration reflects a commitment to addressing citizens' needs and providing them with the means for a decent living in our new cities.
Saber also congratulated all members of the church and those responsible for this edifice, praying to Allah that it may be a worship house, a beacon of love and peace, where Egyptians gather to strengthen values of goodness and tolerance.
Saber also stated that inaugurating a new house of worship in Egypt reflects the country’s deep‑rooted values of respecting religions, upholding freedom of worship, and promoting the concept of citizenship as a fundamental pillar for national unity and social cohesion.
Moreover, Saber said that this event aligns with the government's commitment to providing places of worship and allocating the necessary land for their establishment to address citizens' needs. It reflects the state’s keenness to promote the values of citizenship, support integrated urban development, and provide the essentials of a decent life for residents of new cities. This comes in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi to sustain development efforts, improve quality of services for citizens, and promote values of love, tolerance, and coexistence among all Egyptians.
Saber further stated that Egypt has always been, and will continue to be, an example of coexistence and love among its people, sharing one homeland, one history, and one future. He added that what distinguishes Egyptian society are the human and national bonds that overcome differences, proving that all are partners in shaping the nation and that mutual respect and embracing diversity are among the most important foundations of stability and prosperity.
The governor added that the places of worship have a greater mission than just performing religious rituals but also instilling moral values, promoting love, serving the community, and raising generations on tolerance, belonging, and giving.
The governor is looking forward to this church being a house filled with faith and a source of goodness and love. Additionally, he hoped that it would contribute to strengthening the bonds that unite the residents of El Shorouk City within a framework of mutual respect and cooperation for the welfare of the nation.
At the conclusion of his speech, the governor expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the establishment of this edifice and to all those responsible for the church. He wished them continued success in fulfilling their religious and social mission, adding that Egypt will always, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, remain a united country that promotes love and belonging among its people, continuing the path of development toward a better future for all Egyptians.
