Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber inspected the activities of the Presidential Initiative to support Egyptian women’s health, launched by the Haya Karima Foundation at the General Islamic Al-Mawasah Association in the Waili district. The initiative runs from 7 to 11 October as part of the state’s efforts to expand health services for citizens, enhance early disease detection, and reduce complications.
The governor was accompanied by Dr. Ahmad Anwar El-Adl, Deputy Governor of Cairo; Dr. Mohammad Eid, Director of the Health Affairs Directorate; Dr. Ahmad Farghali, General Coordinator of the Hayah Karima Foundation in Cairo Governorate; Dr. Mohammad Mubarez, Coordinator of the Medical Sector at the Hayah Karima Foundation; Amal Mohammad, Director of the General Islamic Al-Mawasah Association; and Dr. Ahmad Farghali, Coordinator of the Medical Sector at the Hayah Karima Foundation.
The initiative provides free comprehensive medical screening for women, with a focus on early detection of chronic diseases and cancers, using the latest medical equipment and technologies. It also offers essential health awareness guidelines and refers cases requiring further tests or medical intervention to Ministry of Health and Population hospitals to complete treatment and take the necessary procedures for treatment at state expense in accordance with applicable regulations.
Governor Saber said that presidential initiatives are crucial to provide healthcare to citizens, adding that the Women’s Health Initiative is a key model for expanding early detection services and reaching as many beneficiaries as possible, thereby helping to protect women’s health and improve their quality of life.
The initiative targets screening around 1,000 women daily, reflecting the high demand for medical services and the significant benefits they provide. It also sheds light on how crucial the partnership and coordination between state institutions and civil society organizations are to support the state’s efforts in the health sector.
