Conditions, required documents for obtaining social loan from Nasser Bank

Nasser Social Bank has announced that it will continue to provide affordable social financing and loans of up to EGP 10,000, with no interest, to support citizens facing emergency living and social circumstances. The initiative aims to ease financial burdens on employees receiving salaries, pensioners, and their eligible heirs.

These loans are designed to meet the urgent needs of eligible individuals at different stages of life, including marriage expenses, medical treatment, education costs, preparation of academic theses and graduation projects, as well as exceptional and emergency circumstances. A key feature of the initiative is that the outstanding debt is completely waived in the event of the borrower’s death, easing the financial burden on the beneficiary’s family.

The bank explained that the repayment period can extend to three years, with affordable monthly installments and a small administrative fee. The eligibility requirements vary depending on the applicant’s category, as follows:

Salaried employees: Applicants must have at least three years of actual service, provide a guarantor employed by the state’s administrative apparatus, and arrange for their salary or loan installment to be transferred to the bank.

Pensioners: Applicants must arrange for their pension or loan installment to be transferred to the bank. Beneficiaries receiving an eligible pension must also provide a government-employed guarantor.

The basic required documents include copies of valid national ID cards for both the borrower and the guarantor, the insurance numbers of the borrower, guarantor, and beneficiary, a salary or pension statement for the borrower, and a salary statement for the guarantor.

Additional documents vary according to the purpose of the loan:

Marriage loan: Applicants must provide the original marriage certificate for Muslims or an engagement record for Christian denominations, provided that the engagement record is no more than seven years old. A marriage certificate may replace the engagement record in cases where no formal engagement record is issued.

Medical treatment loan: Applicants must submit a recent medical certificate approved by a hospital affiliated with the Ministry of Health.

School and university expenses loan: Applicants must provide proof of enrollment at the relevant school or university.

Academic thesis and graduation project financing: Applicants must submit a letter from the university confirming that they are preparing an academic thesis or graduation project.

Urgent and emergency cases: Applicants must provide an official document issued by the relevant authority confirming the circumstances that justify the need for financing.

Through these loans, Nasser Social Bank provides a financing option to help citizens overcome exceptional circumstances and cover essential expenses, thereby strengthening social protection for financially vulnerable groups.
