Cairo Governor continues to oversee search for survivors at collapsed building site

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, accompanied by Maj. Gen. Mohammad Yousef, Assistant Minister of the Interior and Director of the Cairo Security Directorate, continues to oversee the rescue operations and the search for survivors under the rubble of the collapsed building at 5 Abdel Ghaffar Street, off Teraat El-Gabal, in the Hadayek El-Kobba neighborhood.

Moreover, temporary steel supports are being installed to secure adjacent buildings, which have been evacuated as a precaution to protect passers-by and residents' property, the governorate added.
The governorate's Central Operations Room had received a report of the collapse of an old building constructed in the 1950s, consisting of a ground floor and 4 upper floors supported by load-bearing walls.

Immediately, civil protection forces, ambulance services, security officials, and all executive bodies of the governorate rushed to the scene to follow up on debris removal and rescue operations. Four injured people were recovered and taken to El-Zeitoun Hospital, and the search for other survivors is underway.
