Cairo Gov. oversees rescue operation following building collapse in Hadayek El-Kobba

Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber headed to the site of the collapsed building at 5 Abdel Ghaffar Street, off Teraat El-Gabal, in the Hadayek El-Kobba neighborhood, to oversee the rescue operation for the residents.

The governorate's Central Operations Room had received a report of the collapse of an old building constructed in the 1950s, consisting of a ground floor and 4 upper floors. Immediately, civil protection forces, ambulance services, security officials, and all executive bodies of the governorate rushed to the scene to follow up on debris-removal and rescue operations.

Three injured people were recovered from the site and taken to El-Zeitoun Hospital, and the search for other survivors is ongoing. The neighboring buildings were also evacuated as a precautionary measure.
