Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, accompanied by Maj. Gen. Mohammad Yousef, Assistant Minister of the Interior and Director of the Cairo Security Directorate, continues to oversee the rescue operations and the search for survivors under the rubble of the collapsed building at 5 Abdel Ghaffar Street, off Teraat El-Gabal, in the Hadayek El-Kobba neighborhood. Six injured people have been recovered so far, and the search for other survivors is underway.
Furthermore, the executive bodies of the Cairo governorate continue to install temporary steel supports to secure adjacent buildings, which have been evacuated as a precaution to protect passers-by and residents' property.
The governorate's Central Operations Room had received a report of the collapse of an old building constructed in the 1950s, consisting of a ground floor and 4 upper floors supported by load-bearing walls.
Immediately, civil protection forces, ambulance services, security officials, and all executive bodies of the governorate rushed to the scene to follow up on debris removal and rescue operations.
