The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's official spokesperson, Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, announced that 29,000 students have so far registered their preferences through the online admissions portal for the first phase of admissions to public universities and institutes for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Abdel Ghaffar said that registration will remain open until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, via the online admissions portal, urging first-phase students to submit their preferences before the deadline.
He added that the online admissions portal allows students to register or modify their preferences 24 hours a day throughout the first phase. Computer labs at public universities also continue to assist students daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., providing free technical support and help with the registration process.
He further noted that the Ministry of Higher Education continues to publish guidance materials and instructional resources to help students complete the online admissions process correctly and understand the rules and procedures governing university admissions. He also encouraged students and parents to follow the ministry's official website and verified social media platforms for accurate information about the online admissions process.
