Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber stated that there were no injuries or casualties in the governorate as a result of the earthquake that struck early this morning. He added that the governorate’s executive bodies continue to monitor the situation around the clock, coordinating with the relevant authorities to respond promptly to any developments.
These remarks were made during a meeting chaired by Governor Saber at the National Emergency and Public Safety Control Center to follow up on the repercussions of the tremor that hit Egypt at around 3:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026. The earthquake registered a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale, according to data recorded by the National Seismic Network stations operated by the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics.
Saber also communicated with his deputies across the four regions to ensure that no repercussions or damages resulted from the earthquake. He further stated that all executive bodies in the governorate remained on high alert, with district chiefs intensifying field tours to monitor any developments.
