The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt, announces the opening of applications for the “Future Scientists” scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic year. The scholarship is intended for high-achieving Egyptian high school students who benefit from the “Takaful and Karama” social protection initiative, as well as students who were exempted from tuition fees by the Ministry of Education during the 2025/2026 academic year. The scholarship enables them to enroll in participating private universities and obtain a bachelor’s degree or a license degree in scientific fields required by the state across various geographical regions.
The scholarship is part of the state’s efforts to support sustainable development and social justice, improve the quality of education, and promote equal opportunities. It aims to help prepare a generation capable of innovation and making an effective contribution to sustainable development in society.
The scholarship is fully funded and covers tuition fees, accommodation, and living expenses throughout the student’s period of study at participating private universities until graduation, provided that the scholarship requirements continue to be met.
To apply, the student must be an Egyptian citizen, academically high-achieving, and either a beneficiary of the “Takaful and Karama” initiative or a student who was exempted from tuition fees by the Ministry of Education during the 2025/2026 academic year. The applicant must also have obtained their General Secondary Education Certificate (Thanaweya Amma) from a public school during the 2025/2026 academic year, have good conduct, and not have been academically or disciplinarily dismissed from any educational institution. Applicants must also pass an admission test to be held after the initial nomination stage.
The student must not have received another scholarship funded by another entity concurrently with this scholarship. Applications must be submitted through the designated website, with all required documents—and any additional documents requested later—provided. Both the student and their legal guardian must sign the application declaration.
Every student awarded the scholarship must open a bank account at a bank licensed by the Central Bank of Egypt within the Arab Republic of Egypt in order to receive the allocated living and accommodation expenses.
The fully funded scholarship covers the following fields: medicine, engineering, computer science and artificial intelligence, nursing, veterinary medicine, applied arts, arts and design, agriculture, tourism and hotels, and archaeology, while taking geographical distribution of scholarships across all governorates into consideration.
Applications will open on the scholarship website at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, and will close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Students must complete their information by logging into the platform using their national ID number as the username and the password printed on their General Secondary Education Certificate. Any application with incomplete information or inaccurate information will be rejected.
Students may apply to colleges located in the governorate from which they obtained their high school certificate. If the desired college is not available in that governorate, they may apply to a university in the nearest governorate.
An admission test will be administered after the initial nomination stage, and only students who pass the test will be nominated for the scholarship. Acceptance of the scholarship will automatically be canceled if any of the submitted information is found to be inaccurate. The scholarship will also be canceled if the student fails to attend the admission test.
The scholarship will continue provided that the student meets its academic and behavioral requirements. It will be canceled, and the student will be required to repay its value, if they fail to maintain the required minimum academic grade point average of 3.0 or its equivalent, starting from the second year.
Students are not permitted to transfer from one college to another during the scholarship period. The scholarship will also be canceled if the student stops attending classes without permission or an acceptable reason, receives a disciplinary sanction from the university, or is convicted of a legal offense, unless the two parties decide to exempt the student from this condition after accepting the written reasons and justifications submitted. The scholarship will also be canceled if the student provides false information or documents in order to obtain it.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research emphasizes that the “Future Scientists” scholarship comes as part of its cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt to support high-achieving and deserving students and provide them with outstanding educational opportunities. The initiative aims to strengthen equal opportunities and contribute to preparing qualified scientific professionals in fields that are a priority for the country’s needs.
