Thursday, August 27, is public holiday for Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, has issued a decision declaring Thursday, August 27, 2026, an official paid public holiday on the occasion of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Mawlid al-Nabawi), instead of Tuesday, August 25, 2026, which corresponds to the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, 1448 AH.

The decision applies to employees working in ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies, while examinations, if any, will continue to be held according to the dates set by the competent authority.
