The Egyptian National Railways Authority announced that it has added extra trips on the Cairo–Assiut line and vice versa, using third-class air-conditioned trains from August 12 to 22, 2026. This measure responds to increased demand and aims to provide greater comfort for passengers travelling to Upper Egypt.
The Egyptian Railways have announced the schedules for additional trains on the Cairo–Assiut line and its return route. Train 1952, travelling from Cairo to Assiut, began operating on Wednesday, August 12, and will continue until August 21, 2026. It departs from Cairo station at 9:40 p.m. and arrives at Assiut station at 3:20 a.m.
Train 1951, travelling from Assiut to Cairo, began operating on Thursday, August 13, 2026, and will continue until August 22, 2026. It departs from Assiut station at 9:10 a.m. and arrives at Cairo station at 2:50 p.m.
The Egyptian Railways stated that it will maintain field monitoring of passenger movement at all stations, working to enhance the services provided to citizens and ensure the regularity of operations across the railway network.
