Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber
visited the Iqraa Noon El-Sahar Library, offering free reading services in the
Nasr City neighborhood. During his visit, Saber met with a group of school
students who expressed their happiness at having such distinguished public
libraries that satisfy their passion for reading at no cost.
Saber also said the library, which is witnessing a significant
turnout from students and youth, represents an important step towards
implementing the directives of the political leadership aimed at enhancing
culture and education in Egypt. Additionally, it aligns with
the state's vision to deepen culture and develop society in a way that serves
the nation's development goals. This library represents a qualitative addition
to Egypt's public libraries, as it provides an encouraging environment for reading
and knowledge. It also offers extensive opportunities for all members of the
society to access the sources of culture and sciences.
Saber added that this library, established by the state, aligns
with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives to expand public libraries
throughout Cairo's neighborhoods, as President Sisi believes in the vital role
that libraries play in raising awareness, deepening knowledge and
understanding, and promoting reading and research among young people.
Moreover, Saber said the library provides outstanding educational
materials and cultural services aimed at all age groups and communities in the
area, with the goal of spreading culture and knowledge. This enhances general
culture, encourages continuous learning, and makes the library a center for
intellectual and cultural innovation.
The Iqraa Noon El-Sahar Library is situated on Shinzo Abe Axis in
Nasr City, encompassing a total area of 625 m². Of this, 105 m² is allocated
for adult reading, while 16 m² is dedicated to children's reading. The library
also includes an outdoor space of 300 m², designed as an open garden, and it
houses a collection of 6,000 books spanning various fields of knowledge.
