The Cairo Opera House hosted the inaugural Saudi Egyptian Nights featuring Majid Al-Muhandis, Mohamed Mounir, Sherine Abdel-Wahab and other stars in an event that marks the beginning of cultural cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Egyptian cultural authorities.

Media figure Amr Adib opened the event, highlighting the cooperation between Turki Al-Sheikh, Saudi chairman of the General Authority for Entertainment, Benchmark, Saudi Arabia’s largest entertainment company, and the Egyptian Minister of Culture, Nevine Al-Kilany.

He then gave the stage to Iraqi-Saudi singer Al-Muhandis who performed many songs from his repertoire, filling the first half of the evening.

The inaugural evening included Egyptian stars Mounir and Abdel-Wahab, who presented a few songs each. Mounir appeared on stage with his hand in the cast. The evening was complemented with performances of other well-known artists, such as Reham Abdel-Hakim and Omar Khairat.

All performers were accompanied by a grand orchestra consisting of musicians from numerous Cairo Opera ensembles and a few independent artists, conducted by Walid Fayed and Hani Farahat. The event was attended by acclaimed singers, actors, filmmakers, and media figures.

The Saudi Egyptian Nights is part of the recently signed cooperation between Al-Sheikh and Al-Kilany.

Cooperation includes numerous activities that will be set in action in the coming months in Cairo and Riyadh, including singing, theatre, and film, alongside the dynamic cooperation between the Cairo Opera House and the Saudi General Authority for Entertainment.
