‘Charlie’ play to be presented at opening of Cairo International Festival for Experimental Theater
The “Charlie – The Universal Citizen” play
will be presented at the opening show of the 30th session of the Cairo
International Festival for Experimental Theater, the Higher Committee of
the Cairo International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theater announced.
“Charlie” is written by Medhat al-Adl,
and directed by Ahmed al-Bouhy, who will also direct the opening ceremony of
the festival. The play about the life of one of the
most important cinema figures in the world, Charlie Chaplin.
It stars Mohamed Fahim, who plays the
role of Charlie Chaplin, Nour Qadri, Ayman al-Shiwy, Dalia al-Guindy, Hani
Mustafa, Rowan al-Ghab, and fifty young actors and dancers. The music is
composed by Ihab Abdel Wahed.
The Higher Committee of the Cairo
International Festival for Contemporary and Experimental Theater comprises
Chairman of the Festival Sameh Mahran, General Coordinator Mohamed Abdel Rahman
al-Shafei, directors Dina Amin and Ayman Shewi, and more.
The 30th Cairo International Festival
for Experimental Theater will be held from September 1-8.
