Cairo Gov. inaugurates new public space project in Khayala city
Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim
Saber, accompanied by Deputy Governor Ashraf Mansour and Chairman of the Urban
Development Fund Khaled Sediq, inaugurated a new public space project. The
project was designed and executed with community involvement and is located in
the recently developed Khayala City in the Basateen district as an alternative
to hazardous areas.
During the inauguration
ceremony, Governor Saber said the project aligns with the directives of the
political leadership to improve the quality of life for citizens in the most
vulnerable neighborhoods. He added that the Cairo Governorate places great emphasis
on developing hazardous areas and enhancing the quality of services provided to
residents.
Moreover, Saber stated that
the project aims to create public spaces and open areas for the residents of
Khayala City to achieve a sustainable impact that fosters cultural, social,
and recreational life. The project also seeks to allocate areas for play and
recreation while adhering to security and safety standards.
Saber also stated that this
project is part of the international initiative "Urban Governance and
Public Participation in Designing Arab City Public Spaces," which aims to
promote residents' involvement in designing and developing urban spaces that
reflect their identity and meet their daily needs.
