Cairo Governor Dr. Ibrahim Saber, accompanied by Deputy governors Ibrahim Abdel Hady, Hossam Fawzy, Mona El-Batrawy, Ashraf Mansour, Assistant Secretary-General Yahia Adgham, and several officials of Cairo governorate, visited the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayab at the headquarters of Al-Azhar in Al-Darrassa neighborhood.  

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Mohammad El-Dawini, Executive Director of Zakat and Charities Fund, Dr. Sahar Nasr, and Secretary General of Al-Azhar Supreme Council, Dr. Ismail El-Hadad.

During his visit, Saber expressed his happiness at meeting Dr. Ahmad Al-Tayab, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, as part of the strong ties binding Al-Azhar and Cairo governorate, which aim to strengthen cooperation and promote participation for the benefit of citizens.

Saber also praised Al-Azhar's role as a beacon of knowledge and community engagement, emphasizing its efforts in spreading and preserving the message of Islam.

Moreover, Saber emphasized that Al-Azhar is a prestigious institution with a significant place in the hearts of all Egyptians due to its educational and awareness initiatives, noting that Al-Azhar has presented a remarkable model for national unity and cohesion.

Saber commended the purposeful role played by Al-Azhar, under the leadership of Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, in promoting and instilling values of moderation, tolerance, and brotherhood among members of society, especially the youth.

Furthermore, Saber said the continuation of Al-Azhar for more than a thousand years is due to its moderate approach and its distance from extremism and radicalism. Therefore, it holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims worldwide.

Saber also pointed out that the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, both as a mosque and a university, extends beyond merely disseminating religious values and the teachings of Islam. It has evolved into a leading global Islamic educational system that actively contributes to achieving peace and moderation.
