Introduction
The Cairo
International Book Fair, anticipated by millions of reading enthusiasts in
Egypt, will open its 56th edition on January 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM, with entry
on this day limited to invitees only.
The fair will open
its doors to the public starting January 24, 2025, until February 5, 2025, at
the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo.
Ahmed Bahi El-Din,
the head of the General Book Authority, announced that this year's exhibition
comes under the slogan "Read... In the beginning was the Word,"
explaining that this slogan reflects the role of the exhibition, which has
become a true platform for receiving ideas.
During the fair, the
"A Million Books" initiative will be launched, aiming to gift one million
books to Egyptian ministries, universities, and professional syndicates.
The 56th edition of the Cairo International
Book Fair in 2025 will take place over an area of 55,000 square meters,
featuring a total of six exhibition halls. The fair will host 600 diverse
events as part of its cultural program.
The number of
participating publishers and official entities from Egypt, Arab, and foreign
countries reach 1,345 publishing houses and 6,150 exhibitors of literary and
intellectual publications from 80 countries around the world.
The Sultanate of
Oman has been chosen as the guest of honor for this session, reflecting the
depth of the partnership between Egypt and the Sultanate.
Additionally, the
name of Dr. Ahmed Mostagir, the Egyptian scholar and writer, has been selected
as the personality of the fair, while the name of the writer Fatima
Al-Ma’doul has been chosen as the personality of the Children's Book Fair, in
recognition of her creative journey for children.
Opening Hours
and how to get to the Cairo Book Fair:
Cairo book fair opens
its doors to the public daily from 10 am to 8 pm, except on Thursdays and
Fridays, from 10 am to 9 pm, from January 24, and ends on February 5.
To facilitate
transportation for visitors attending the exhibition, the Ministry of Culture,
in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the Public Transport
Authority, has allocated bus lines to and from the exhibition venue, departing
from various locations throughout Cairo. This initiative aims to improve access
for visitors from diverse areas.

Book Fair.
The Second Bus Line:

Cairo
Book Fair Ticket Prices 2025:
The ticket price for
the 2025 Book Fair is 5 Egyptian pounds. Tickets can be purchased through the
fair's digital platform or at the ticket booth at the venue. Payment can be
made using applications such as Masary or Aman.
Steps
to book a ticket online:
1. Visit the
official website of the book fair.
2. Register your personal
information, such as your phone number.
3. After completing
the registration, you will receive your ticket via text message and email,
along with the details for the day.
Seminars
and Participants in the 2025 Book Fair:
Ahmed Bahyi El-Din,
the head of the General Book Authority, stated that a cultural program has been
organized, which includes discussions with authors and debates on key issues
during the fair’s seminars, in addition to organizing an international poetry
festival as part of the exhibition's activities. He added that there will be
collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the first time during
the event, and there will be a celebration of writer Mustafa Nasif and the late
Dr. Suleiman Al-Attar, a professor of Andalusian literature, on the sidelines
of the fair.
Bahyi El-Din also
announced that many digital services would be launched alongside the fair by
the United Company for Printing, Publishing, and Information Technology, which
is responsible for the digital platform. These services include a ticket
booking platform and an online book purchasing platform, in addition to the
launch of the General Authority for Books' website and its activities, as well
as exhibitions in the governorates.
Regarding the
"Million Books" Initiative, Bahi El-Din said it is a project by the
Minister of Culture to provide Egyptians with one million books from the
Ministry of Culture, aimed at supporting ministries and organizations by
enhancing their specialized libraries. He also explained that the fair offers
various services for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, he noted that
a new hall has been added this year, "Hall No. 6," which features
discounted books, along with the institutions' hall that offers a series of
seminars presented by official and educational organizations.
