Cairo Hunting Museum

The Hunting Museum in Cairo was inaugurated in 1963 at the Palace of Prince Mohammad Ali, and it has a long corridor adjacent to the northern fence of the Palace.

The museum displays a collection of mummified animals, some of which were gifted to Prince Mohammad Ali as the kingdom's crown prince. Other artifacts were collected after the 23^rd Revolution in 1952 from palaces and rest houses of King Farouq and Prince Yousef Kamal, who were known for their passion for hunting. The museum was closed in 2006 for renovation and was reopened in 2017.  

The museum's artifacts include a rare collection of mummified colored butterflies, snakeskin, a collection of mummified Egyptian and European migratory birds, deer heads, camels, and predators. The museum also displays some of the Sudanese ruler's gifts to King Farouq, which includes pieces of furniture made of elephant's ivory.
